Although filing for bankruptcy can temporarily stop an auction, it most often just DELAYS the inevitability of foreclosure. Furthermore, bankruptcy creates a lasting negative mark on your credit, even years after filing, making recovery difficult in the long run.

Many people file for bankruptcy under the hope that everything will work out in the end; however, in most cases, bankruptcy leads to higher legal fees and costs and, ultimately, the loss of homes.
